Problem / Empathy
After surgery, a stroke, or a serious fall, the last thing you want to do is haul your loved one in and out of a car for therapy three times a week. Hospital and clinic-based therapy is exhausting, and missed appointments slow recovery. In-home therapy fixes that — same licensed clinicians, same evidence-based protocols, delivered in the place your recovery actually happens.

Therapy Services We Bring To Your Home
In-Home Physical Therapy (PT)
Strength, balance, gait training, fall prevention, post-orthopedic recovery (knee/hip replacement), neurological rehab (stroke, Parkinson’s, MS), and pain management. Our PTs assess your actual home — stairs, bathroom, bedroom — and tailor exercises to the spaces you live in.
In-Home Occupational Therapy (OT)
Activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, cooking), home safety assessments, adaptive equipment training, energy conservation, and cognitive rehab. OTs focus on what you need to do every day — and how to do it safely and independently.
In-Home Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)
Speech therapy for stroke recovery, Parkinson’s-related speech changes, swallowing disorders (dysphagia), cognitive-communication issues, and voice rehabilitation.
Post-Surgical Rehab
Coordinated PT and OT for hip and knee replacements, spine surgery, cardiac surgery, and other procedures requiring structured recovery.
Stroke Rehabilitation
Coordinated PT, OT, and SLP — the gold-standard team for post-stroke recovery — delivered at home where it sticks.
Fall Prevention Programs
Home safety evaluation, balance training, strength building, and assistive device training to keep your loved one upright and out of the ER.

Why Families Choose Focus Family Care
Florida-Licensed & Medicare-Certified
Focus Family Care is licensed by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and certified by Medicare. You’ll never wonder whether your care meets state and federal standards.
Care Starts In 24–48 Hours
Most families call us in a moment of crisis — after a hospital discharge, a fall, or a sudden diagnosis. We move fast: in most cases an RN visits within 24 hours and care begins within 48.
The Same Caregiver Every Visit
Continuity matters. We assign the same nurse, therapist, or aide to your loved one whenever possible — building trust, consistency, and better clinical outcomes.
RN-Built Care Plans
Every patient gets a personalized plan of care developed by a registered nurse — not a one-size-fits-all schedule. Plans are reviewed and updated as needs change.
Multilingual Care Team
Our caregivers speak English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole — important in a multicultural region like South Florida where comfort and trust depend on being understood.
We Verify Your Insurance For Free
Don’t guess what’s covered. Call us with your insurance card and we’ll verify your benefits at no cost — Medicare, Medicaid, Humana, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross, VA, and most private plans.
How To Get Started
Step 1
Call or request a callback
Reach out by phone at (561) 693-1311 or fill out the short form on this page. A care coordinator picks up — not a call center.
Step 2
Free in-home assessment
An RN visits your home (or your loved one’s home) at no charge. We discuss medical needs, daily routines, family preferences, language, and schedule.
Step 3
Custom care plan & caregiver match
Your RN builds a written plan of care. We hand-pick a caregiver matched to your loved one’s clinical needs, personality, and language — and introduce them to you before care begins.
Step 4
Care begins — usually within 24-48 hours
Most new patients start receiving care within 1-2 days of the assessment. Your care coordinator stays in regular contact to make sure everything is going well.

FAQ
01Does Medicare cover in-home physical therapy?
Yes. Medicare Part A covers in-home physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology when a physician orders it as part of a home health plan of care and the patient is considered homebound. There is typically no copay for these services under traditional Medicare.
02What does 'homebound' mean for Medicare home health?
Generally, ‘homebound’ means leaving home requires considerable and taxing effort, or that the patient needs help (a person, a wheelchair, crutches) to leave. It does not mean bedridden. Patients can leave home for medical appointments, religious services, occasional family events, and adult day care without losing homebound status.
03How do I get started with in-home therapy?
Call us at (561) 693-1311. We’ll verify your insurance, coordinate with your physician for the order, and schedule your initial therapy evaluation — typically within 24-48 hours of receiving the order.
04How long does in-home therapy typically last?
It depends on your diagnosis and goals. Medicare home health certification periods are 60 days, and most patients receive between 1 and 5 visits per week of each discipline (PT, OT, SLP) during that time. Your therapist re-evaluates progress and recommends extension or discharge based on functional gains.
05Is in-home therapy as effective as clinic-based therapy?
For many conditions, research shows in-home therapy is equally effective — and sometimes superior — because skills generalize to the actual environment where the patient lives. It also eliminates transportation barriers that lead to missed visits.
06Do you offer in-home therapy for non-Medicare patients?
Yes. We accept Medicaid, most private insurance, long-term care insurance, and private pay. Call for a free benefits verification.
